Tea Pots, Kettles & Cups: Glass, Cast Iron & Porcelain
Of all the tea accessories available from American Tea Room, I’m amazed most by the teapots. There is such a variety, in price range, form and materials.
For those who appreciate a traditional tea pot, ATR offers not one but three styles: Japanese Cast Iron, Japanese Porcelain, and hand-made Chinese Yi Xing clay tea pots.
Japanese cast iron teapots (“tetsubin”) are handcrafted by artisans in Japan’s most famous metalworking district. These tea pots feature quality stick-free rotating handles. Artisan teapots are created with forged iron, and often, their fixed handles are part of their attractive design. Both varieties tend to have customized finials (knobs) on the top of the lid for uniqueness and visual appeal. ATR’s Japanese iron teapots are chosen for their color, beauty and durability.
Chinese Yi Xing clay tea pots are detailed, largely animal-themed, and varied. Versions include dragons, lizards, and a whimsical whale.
