Tea. Such a simple word, and yet it encompasses so many flavors and styles of a beverage that has endured and enriched the world for thousands of years.
American Tea Room is a dedicated and knowledgeable seller of an ever-changing variety of teas. From the tried and true Earl Grey varieties which grace many an afternoon, to exotic oolongs, smoky Samovar tea, yellow teas, and premium matchas, there is a tea for every palate. Each tea is expertly described on-site to give the shopper a one-of-a-kind insight into each flavor and texture.
Here is a brief overview of the teas American Tea Room is proud to list:
Black: Black is among the most highly oxidized of all teas, tastes more strongly than most varieties, and often contains more caffeine. Unlike a green tea, which fades in flavor quickly, a black tea will often retain its flavor for several years. Black teas account for 90% of teas sold in the West.
Green: A light but varying taste, ranging from bitter to sweet, with mild nutty accents.
Matcha is a finely milled form of green tea,
Red: Also known as rooibos, it possesses a more fruity, sweet flavor, and is caffeine-free.
White: One of the most delicate-tasting varieties of tea.
Yellow: A highly oxidized form of tea that is more slowly dried, and lacks the grassy flavor of green teas.
Oolong: A traditonal Chinese tea made through stong oxidation and sunlight. Its tastes vary from green and fresh, with bouquet aromas, to woody and thick with roasted aromas, to sweet and fruity with honey aromas.
